Hooking up

I can’t exactly figure out how to write in the about tab, but I figure I’ll get started and move this over there when I learn how to use a computer.

Welcome to my blog!   The purpose of this blog is to examine this “cultural phenomenon” of “hooking up.”  There has been a huge recent burst in media attention on the one night stands and casual sexual interactions between younger people.  The trend has been spotted in startling young ages but maintains its focus on high schoolers and especially college age students.  It seems that everywhere you turn there are articles on how women are hooking up and the repercussions it may have, but is it really such a new phenomenon?  And what kind of effect does it really have on women these days?  Is it ruining our future relationships or are we able to roll out of our partner’s bed and say “That was cool, now I’m off to chemistry?”  Hopefully we’ll be able to explore the hook-up phenomenon and find some answers to these questions.
